Selling with Passion

Submitted by Mitch Seigel on Tues, 8/25/2015

Often we get calls on the phone, emails, or approaches on the street, from salespeople wanting our attention, and our money. Many of those approaches are extremely weak because of the lack of passion coming from the pitch.

How can this be avoided? As a salesperson, it really shows if you believe in the products or services you are selling. It’s not a matter of putting on an act to sell; it’s really believing that what you are offering can benefit the customer. If you can’t support the products you are selling, my advice is for you to find another product to sell.

A product or service you believe in, makes it really easy for you to get excited about, when talking to friends, family and/or potential customers. You enjoy it so much that it is felt by those around you without you even saying a word.

This passion will allow you to grow sales when the time is right, and also help you plant seeds for sales in the future. You can be a guest speaker and not even have to use notes. You can tell people the intricate details on the values and benefits of the products, without consulting a manual.

I think you get the picture. The product is you and you are the product, one and the same! This excitement will act as a magnet for customers who feel the passion that you demonstrate. Remember, it’s not an act, but true passion for what you are representing!

What are your challenges when it comes to selling passionately? I look forward to hearing your comments. Until next time…
