Ideas Drive Business

No matter what you sell or where you sell it, giving your clients ideas on how to approach the market is what drives their business. Now, how do you come up with the ideas?

Research is needed to learn the priorities of your client. Are they trying to drive traffic to the store or website, or is quality of customers more important than quantity? Are there specific products or services that they are introducing and need a push to the consumer?

Once you know key targets for the client, you can then start formulating ideas. It may be you alone working on ideas, or it may be that you can get a team together to brainstorm on your behalf. I either case, you then would be responsible for presenting the ideas to the client and fielding questions about the ideas.

Ideas turn into real deals once the client gives the signal that they are ready to move forward. To get to that point it may take a lot of tweaking of the ideas, adding concepts from the client themselves or taking away some of the concepts you or your brainstorming team developed.

Ideas go a long way if you let them. Too many people are accustomed to shooting down ideas before they even start to gel. Sometimes sitting on ideas overnight can lead to the best laid plans!

What are your challenges when it comes to developing ideas for your clients? I look forward to hearing your comments. Until next time...
