Prospecting for Gold; It is Always There for the Taking

Submitted by Mitch Seigel on Tue, 10/22/2013

Sometimes after digging and digging and digging, it is hard for you to imagine that the fruit of your labor is there at all. Let me tell you that it is always there for the taking. It never fails though, if you give up looking, your competitor picks up the pieces and they find the fruit!

How can you avoid this from happening? Two keys to your success will be to 1.) Stay organized in your prospecting methods and 2.) Never give up. Not in any particular order!

Staying organized means using the right means to prospect for your specific sales position. If you are constantly putting yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time, you are going to continuously miss the opportunities. Quite the opposite is true if you do your homework and position yourself correctly.

Never giving up is a difficult part of the process to manage, and yet, it must be achieved. Countless times a salesperson feels they have done everything to prospect for their next sale, when in reality they have only done one tenth of the steps they could have done to be successful. Examine your process and make sure that you are not skipping steps.

The gold is always there for the taking, as long as you are making sure your organization is allowing you to be persistent. Whatever you do, do not give up-do not ever give up!

What are your challenges when it comes to prospecting? I look forward to hearing your comments. Until next timeā€¦
