Sports Marketing

Congratulations to the San Francisco Giants; winners of two of the past three World Series titles-not an easy feat to accomplish. Now the work begins! How can the giants take advantage of being the king of the hill in baseball for two out of three years?

Other than a few standout plays, you can really say that this team was just that, a team. This is a lesson that can set a good example for kids, for business staffs and for many more groups of people. So to begin with, the San Francisco Giants can take advantage of their new position by working with all kids or groups, where acting as a team determines the success of that group.

Also, businesses, for profit and not for profit, can take advantage of the story to ignite their staffs toward their annual goals. In ten years it may be hard to remember who the individuals are that compose this Giant roster. The same is true for most company staffs. Goals still must be met and surpassed.

From a marketing perspective, many companies should try to engage with the Giants to advantage of being associated with their position in the sports world. Who knows, possibly it could turn into three out of four years that they are champions! You have to strike while the iron is hot. Don’t wait until the new baseball season begins, it’s a hot story now!

What are your challenges when it comes to sports marketing? I look forward to hearing your comments. Until next time…

Well put and very timely, especially since Southern California has quite a variety of sports marketing opportunities, even if there is no direct connection with the San Francisco Giants!
